The Republic of Velansia has historically sought to promote peaceful co-existence, human rights and democratic governance, and is currently considered to be a hallmark of the Russian semi-simultationist micronational tradition originated in mid 2010s.
The Republic, in its different forms, has maintained diplomatic relations with more than 70 micronations since its establishment in 2014.

Velansia’s story begins in 2015 with the establishment of the Republic of Pribelye on outskirts of Bashkortostan, Russia.
It was founded by President Valery Savarnuuk in a hope to establish a micronation that would, more or less, resemble ‘a real state’ and, as such, the Velansian Federation was born in a nod to the Russian Federation.
A majority of micronations that had diplomatic relations with Velansia has ceased to exist. Velansia still stands.
The current Government is committed to preserving the records of a decade-long Velansian governance and its place in the Russian micronational community.

In honour of contributions made by Asian Velansians (fmr. President Zangeev and President Kim), Velansia has undertaken a goal to develop relations with micronations of China, Korea, Japan and Asian Pacific region.
